This is really quite simple. First you need to source the connector. Nissans used the Consult system from approx 1990 to 2000. So any vehicle from within this period will probably have one. Just go down to a suitable auto wrecker with a side cutters and grab one. Get as much wire length as you can. They can usually be found near the fuse panel in the driver's foot well. Now you just have to wire it in. There are 3 signal wires plus power and ground. All these wires, except for power, can be found on the small white connector near the ECU. This connector supplied signals from the ECU to the instruments in the original vehicle. The only other one you need is power. This is best sourced from the black/white ECU power wires. Here's a diagram showing which wires go to each pin of the Consult Connector. Please note that these wire colours are for the S13 SR20. Many other Nissans use the same colours - but some ARE different. Although the actual pin/signal layout for the connector is always the same.
